Why not AA digital camera batteries work in my vibrator?

Yes ... read the question correctly ... I took a shipper Target battery and a couple of days ago, and I realized it was for digital cameras ... and thus, does not work. I was tired of spending so much on regualr batteries, and decided to go rechargeable. But why do not these batteries work there? Are the same size ... and look like any other AA ... but do not work in the vibrator.

There is a difference between conventional and rechargeable batteries: The normal battery voltage of 1.5 volt rechargeable batteries is usually expected only 1.2 volts. I think a simple motor (if I) should work fine with rechargeable batteries, but if this device includes an electronic it might be possible that 1.2 volts is too low for operation.
