I am looking to buy a lens for use with EOS Digital Rebel XT camera. Which would you recommend?

I am beginner with photography. But i am interested enough to experiment and learn different styles. I am looking for the best affordable lens which would allow me to experiment different photography styles. I would appreciate any help on this.

It depends on what lens or lenses you already have. If you bought your XT with the kit lens (18-55), a good complement to that would be a telephoto zoom lens, something that goes from 70 to 200 or 300mm.
