Is there a digital camera that can use a battery pack or 2 AA batteries?

If I go oversees this summer to Kenya, I heard that they don't have the same voltage or something- so i can't charge my battery pack, so it would be easier to buy AA batteries instead and carry them there but when I return i just want to be able to use a battery pack. Can I have a camera that does both and is not that expensive?

Using rechargeable batteries with a digital camera is quite easy and common, even for those who travel overseas. Unfortunately, there are no common cameras, if any, which run on both AA batteries and also its own battery pack. However, using rechargeable is a great way to go.

To go with any AA battery camera, you can purchase a set of Ni-MH batteries which come with 2 or 4 AA batteries (two to have in the camera, two as a backup). Most modern battery chargers accept ALL voltages - they only need a plug adapter to work in oversea countries, such as in Kenya.

Both Energizer and Duracell make good battery chargers with universal voltage input, and these are bundled with AA batteries. These chargers are not large (they are travel-sized, actually) and cost $20 to $30 dollars, depending on the store.
