Which camera should I buy?

I'm looking to get a digital camera for my trip to Spain this summer.
Here are my requirements:

1. Durable. My last camera (Kodak EasyShare) broke within a year.
2. Good quality pictures. I want them to be sharp.
3. Good zoom, with the picture in the zoom still fairly sharp.
4. Could fit in a (large) purse.
5. Technology-impaired-friendly. None of this guessing what to do.

I have the Canon PowerShot SX110 IS in black and I love it. It's durable, it has 9.0 megapixels, 10x optical zoom and a 4x digital zoom. Right before you take the picture, you can hold the button down about half way and it'll do a little extra zooming to make sure the picture can come out clear. It takes AA batteries, but I bought the rechargeable ones. There are 2 downfalls, but they aren't major. One it is a little bit bulky, not as slim as some of the cameras out there, but it will fit into a big purse. Number 2 is that after you take the picture, you have to wait 7-10 seconds before you can take another one.

However, seeing how you want something simple I suggest on going to bestbuy.com, walmart.com, any place that sells cameras and just look around. Reading the customer reviews should help as well. Check out Canon's PowerShot, the one that is always on the commercials with the tennis player and her dog. Those seem pretty simple to use.
